Dysnomia is a program that shows the possibility to download songs from on-demand music websites (only the deezer.com website in the 0.3.1 version). It's only a proof of concept of that possibility, and it's main interest is in it's code and how it works, not in using it to download songs on these websites.

It is still in beta version, and it is very likely to have a lot of bugs. On future versions, Dysnomia will be a proof of concept of the possibility to download musics and videos from a lot of different websites (deezer.com, jamendo, last.fm, radioblogclub, youtube, dailymotion...) and will be more reliable. Dysnomia is available for Windows and the GNU/Linux operating systems (and probably - but it has not been tested - all the OSes on which the wxWidgets and libcurl librairies have been ported).

Important : Dysnomia should not be used to download songs that are not freely copyable. Such an utilization of this program is illegal. If you intend to use that program to do that, you and you only take responsibility for that.

If you wish to test the program, try for example the "tryad" search request : tryad is a an Internet-based musical group that publish all their works under a Creative Commons license, allowing it to be freely copied and distributed.

23/11/2007 - Woops - there was a mistake with the windows port of the latest (0.3.4) version. Search requests were crashing dysnomia because of an invalide file name. It is corrected and a new version (0.3.4b-windows) is available.

23/11/2007 - New modifications on the deezer.com website have been made again. The 0.3.4 version, which allow downloading and searching on this new version of the website, is online. The next update will be the 0.4 version.

23/11/2007 - The 0.3.3 version, which allow downloading and searching on the new version of the deezer.com website, is online. I know these regular updates are annoying, and the 0.4 version (wich will be available this week end if I can) will allow the user to automatically update dysnomia.

23/11/2007 - The deezer.com website has been updated again. I'm working on a patch right now, a 0.3.3 version should be available within three hours.

09/11/2007 - The 0.3.2 version, which allow downloading and searching on the new version of the deezer.com website, is online. It is now possible to compile Dysnomia with wxWidgets >= 2.6 (instead of 2.8 on the previous versions), and with or without unicode support.

09/11/2007 - The deezer.com website has been updated. Search and download on the website from dysnomia are no longer possible. The modifications have been identified, and a new version of dysnomia will be available tonight.

30/10/2007 - The 0.3.1 version, which allow downloading and searching on the new version of the deezer.com website, is finally online. It now allows you to download with two different modes (see the README file for more information). Sorry about the delay, I had little time to deal with the project recently. A new 0.4 version with a lot of new features should be available very soon.
